San Francisco based ‘dreamgazer’ Dale Marquez, a.k.a. Some Gorgeous Accident, dead giveaway, since its name, of his passion for the 90’s Sarah Records sound and Blueboy in particular, had claimed to discontinued his more than a decade long-standing project after last year album “The Lovers Of Their Opposites” on Shelflife Records, but there should’ve been still some spare songs around if he’s going to release a new 5-track CD-EP “Heaven sent”, due out June 4, 2018, via the excellent DIY Greek label, based in Thessaloniki, Melotron Recordings, the same title of an unforgettable 1983’s single by Paul Haig of Josef K fame on the Factory records related label, Les Disques Du Crepuscule, I guess not by accident.
“Evergreen Days”, the first preview, is a deliciously enticing distillate of caressing cascades of pristine crystalline guitars, pulsing bass, smooth drums and hushed heartfeld vocals, to craft an intoxicating hazy soundscape descending in dreaming hazy dilations and polychrome reverberations, laced with melancholy and nostalgia.
Once again Some Gorgeous Accident gave us a superb sliver of pop wizardry
