Following last February’s intriguing debut EP, the Italian Cold Wave band from Massa, Tuscany, Society of Motion returns with the German language single “Tanz”, a symbolic song about falling and becoming lost, set against a haunting memory of a wild starlit dance.
A slinky shadowy blend of 80s-tinted New Wave and Electro-Pop, with nods to both French ‘vague froid’ (Deux, Ruth) or Italo-Wave (Victrola), immerses in uncanny dramatic cinematics driven by hypnotically squelching motorik drum patterns, droning throbbing low ends alongside brittle tinkling melancholic synth lines, layered with atmospheric glistening guitar inlays, whilst dreamy confused spoken words alternate with deep vocal emotions.
