London-based mesmerizing Shoegazers sadplanet, made up of Kyra Ho (Lead Vocals), Nick Rainey (Guitar, Synthesizer), Aiden Knowles (Guitar), Dan Lawrence (Bass), and Jeff Baker (Drums), herald the new year with their 5th single “Do you?”, one of the very first songs the band wrote, a one-sided conversation, with no resolution, soaked in fear, insecurity, and doubt, “Do you really want me?”
sadplanet live at The Lexington
A deeply layered, magnetic and compelling sonic reverie, with the right amount of stirring epic drama, free to unleash a quiet-loud dynamic blend of airy, radiant and introspective slowdivesque atmospheric parts with a final intense overdriven, post-rock-like, electric surge.
“Do you?” unravels a dynamic shifting rhythmic drive, held by steady drums and humming bass pulses, shuffling below a lush, unrestrained shimmering guitar-drizzled whole, drenched in shivering delay and reverb effects, to infuse a dreamy, celestial aura of swirling suspension, billowing in and out around warm, seemingly carefree female vocals, veering to downcast spoken words before stuttering echoes appear, and a slow building high-pitched dazzling vortex of a droning torrential deluge takes hold.
