The five-piece is renowned for crafting a mesmerising, shimmering ambient-laced array of 90s-inflected shoegaze and introspective dream pop, initially influenced by Cocteau Twins and MBV, through a fine balance between bitter-sweetened ecstatic bliss and heavy, overflowing blankets of drones and feedback, to pull out a melancholic, emotional, sweeping immersion.
“Avalon” unravels ceaseless stompy drums, fueling bursts of gracefully vigorous fuzzed-out guitar tapestries, swaying and lacing, amid reflective builds and buzzy crescendos, with spines of wiry screechy leads that wash over breathy yet piercing vocals, achingly longing under the thick, abrasive distortion, to explore growth, balance and transformation, unto a slowly fading, dazzling, rejuvenating atmospheric coda.
