WL//WH Track Of The Day RASKOLNIKOV
The Franco-Swiss-Spanish post-punk outfit Raskolnikov, formed in Geneva in 2015, comprised of Pablo Garrido (Guitar), Julien Larrochelle (guitar), Jérôme Blum (drums), and Pawełski-Szpiechowycz (bass and vocals), has dropped the new single, “I vow to thee my fury,” to foreshadow the forthcoming 5th album via Manic Depression Records.
Considered by the four-piece as a logical follow‑up to last year’s brilliant “Gorgon’Zola” and “Stockholm” LPs, the song was written collectively during the recording sessions that took place in early 2026 in Annemasse (Haute-Savoie, France), featuring the distinctive, intense existentialist lyrics, with seemingly a nod to Joy Division’s “Decades”, by Mathieu Pawełski-Szpiechowycz.

Deft crafters of an electrifying and feverishly emotional post-punk woven with hazy shoegaze textures and icy Coldwave atmospherics, heightened by mournful and melancholic stabbing guitar work and a beautifully raw and pained vocal delivery.
Anchored steadily on the relentless vibrant charge of heavily punchy drums and a brooding, pulsing bassline, grating, stabbing, and achingly chiming guitar riffs laced with hazy, distorted, abrasive sheets, and overlapping desolate synth drifts, swirl with an electrically-charged, harsh emotional resonance, cast in pain and tragedy, around wistful, agonized male vocals, suffering in a sea of loss and regret.
