WL//WH Track Of The Day: PLEASURE PALACE “Hitachi”

Track Of The Day    PLEASURE PALACE

Synth solo project from Oakland, California, Pleasure Palace, comes back with the second song in a couple of weeks, titled “Hitachi”, after a debut 2-tracker at the beginning of the year, actually much better than the Demo quality asserted.

Echoing New Order and Black Marble, “Hitachi” strikes a fine balance of moody Coldwave introspection and Synthpop wistful melodies, jammed with vintage analog-synth warmness, crisp 808 beatboxes, and vague feeble vocal style.

Thumping tinny kick drums interlace with bouncy blurbing basslines, gently surrounded by sad synth strings and ethereal gauzy choral chords, that skip, swell and fluctuate with pensive melancholy over weak hazy vocals, drawing aching droning breaths of desire from a favorite bedroom toy.
