Track Of The Day   People Mover

Formed in 2021 and rising out of the Meanjin/Brisbane underground house show scene, Australian indie-punk outfit People Mover, made up of siblings Lu and Dan Sergiacomi, respective guitarist/vocalist and drummer, along with good mate Billy McCulloch on bass, unveil the first single, “Habit,” from the forthcoming debut studio album, “Cane Trash,” scheduled for release later this year on September 12th via Little Lunch Records.

It’s about a sense of excitement for things to change, but the gut feeling that this might be as good as it gets.guitarist and songwriter Lu says

For fans of bands such as The Beths, The Courtney’s, The Strokes, Eddy Current Suppression Ring, and Courtney Barnett, according to the press release, “Habit”  stirs up straightforward, earnest layers of guitar-laden, noisy Indie Rock vibes that go hand-in-hand with a glum yet catchy power-pop sensibility, ignited by a jagged edge.

Tight, steady drum beats and thick bass lines laced with ringing slabs of crunchy, abrasive guitars, that ceaselessly scratch sad, distressed female vocals, rising into anxious whines due to a person instinctively making her feel sick.
