WL//WH Track Of The Day: PELOTONE “Rädsla”

Track Of The Day  PELOTONE

Started in 2013 with a debut s/t album the same year on the cult minimal synth/wave label Dödsdans Rekords, Pelotone, the solo project of Stockholm-based Josefine Lindberg, heavily influenced by the minimalistic sound of the ’80s. who handles mesmeric, plaintive analog synthesizer melodies with cold, repetitive drum machine patterns to create an emotive and immersive listening experience set in a “dystopian universe with a ray of hope on the horizon.”

The Swedish composer is going to release the EP Nära” on February 28th 2025, via Lamour Records; five songs in her native language “carefully crafted to echo the delicate balance between the spiritual and the earthly.”

The latest single, “Rädsla”,  carves its mechanical, hypnotic path through a tinny, lashing drum programming, burbling murky bass loops, and a haze of glowing synth chords, swirling desolately over mysterious breathy vocals, gently radiating and releasing calm introspective wistful emotions.
