Started in 2018 the elusive Swedish Synth project Nino Tares tackles retro 80s New Wave /Synth-Pop patterns doused with wistful romanticism, through Italo disco-laced emotive nostalgic soundscapes strained with dystopian moods.
“Broken”, the second and final single before the long-awaited debut album “Fragile Future,” via Gothenburg‘s independent label Inåt Bakåt Records, explores the modern human condition of imminent self-destruction by watching pictures on a screen.
Somehow a teary mix of crepuscular Midge Ure’s Ultravox and the heart-pounding Italo of Savage, the 80s’ hope and optimism turned to discomfort and darkness on the mechanical, hypnotic mid-tempo pace of a drum machine along with arpeggiated glittering low-ends, wrapped by icy lonesome synth swells, glistening, echoing sad guitar melodies and achingly bleeding flourishes, whilst disturbed, melancholic and fearful vocals, emotionally plead for others to see the writing on the wall.
