The enigmatic newcomer Mexican New Wave / Post-punk, allegedly solo, act Navaja has released his restless and haunting sophomore single, “Cuéntame”, about a lost soul, alone and brooding in the aftermath of a broken relationship, who suffers in pain and regret whilst trying to erase a traumatic memory.
An angsty and somber humming bassline pulses urgently, wrapping together with snappy drum beats along wandering glistening spindly guitar spirals, writhing and ringing obsessively over dim husky vocals, angsty haloes and distorted echoes, to evoke secrecy and shame from a dire pain-fueled drift of anxiety.
