WL//WH Track Of The Day : MINOR CRIME “Assimilation”

WL//WH Track Of The Day

Minor Crime is the dark synth wave solo project of New Zealand-born, Amsterdam-based David Tomlinson, one half of the Australian psychedelic duo Spirit Valley.

After the debut cassette EP “Livin’ On”, released at the end of 2017 via Geertruda Records, and the highly danceable darkwave collaboration with fellow producer Marc Dwyer, aka Buzz Kull, known during the long period spent in Sidney, here is a brand new track, the first exciting taste of many, he said, to come.

8 minutes long, “Assimilation” is a love song of torment and obsession that oozes pain and suffering. Introduced by hypnotic and repetitive synths along the tormented and aching vocals, you are immediately drawn into his mournful and poignant musical wasteland, Swathed in a dense and mesmerizing atmosphere punctuated by melodic yet ominous and harrowing superb lead synths and tight rhythms dragging the listener further into his haunted and twisted cry for love.

A fascinating, intense and rewarding listen, absolutely not to be miss.
