Just emerging from the Black Fridays frantic fights?
Madrid based electronic musician, illustrator and Contubernio Records co-founder Tom Esmiz (also part of Explosivos Riotinto, Los Esmiz and Pólipo) has something to say about that craze.
He has just dropped a new single under his minimal electronics MILF Burray moniker, based on the poem “Primark y Primor” by creoquevierto.tumbler.com [EditorialSupremacía]
Introduced by a foreboding droning intro, “Primark y Primor” unfurls over hypnotic, pulsing and buzzing swells of synths underscored by pounding sharp beats, providing the desolate, bleak and urgent backdrop for the deep and sardonic poetry of robotic deadpan vocals, counterpointed by high-tone irreverent voice and sparse crisp percussive snaps, intoning random, empty and frivolous conversations, overheard at a crowded local department store, of dull consumerism and mundane standardization. A hilarious yet terrifying claustrophobic insight into the homogenizing and alienating rituals of today’s disruptive capitalistic society, perfectly evoked by the distant coldness of the machines.
Keep up with MILF Burray :
