Founded in 2015, the four piece Cold-Punk band from East of France, Mestre, after a self-produced EP in 2018, finally landed the well-received 2020 debut album, “Beyond the Lines”, which showed a distinctive personality in the approach to both old-school and contemporary Post-punk canons in its most vibrant and gloomiest form, replete with a close-knit, sharp yet evocative and expressive sound, injected with intense punk energy.
The boiling ice still broods within the second excerpt, titled “In My Darkness”, lifted from the upcoming second album “All of You Are so Far”, where relentless raw vibrancy and inward turmoil, strike the right dramatic balance.
The track deals with a tired soul who asks a loved one to join him in his suffering because he wants to stay where he is.
Tight and rowdy punchy rhythms laced with gravelly churning basslines ceaselessly propel pain-filled ringing guitar riffs, to unrestrainedly shiver, screechingly reverberate and direly ricochet against restless aching vocals, struggling to persuade in a moody and fiery final back-and-forth session.
Mestre‘s sophomore album, “All of You Are So Far”, will be released, in digital & CD formats, on 4th October 2024 via Icy Cold Records (ICR139)
