It’s difficult to get an idea of a band’s sound based on just two songs, and apparently without any info on the web, anyway, we do enjoy the second excerpt, “Universal Lies”, from the forthcoming self-titled debut album by Measurement, a Post-punk four piece from Savannah, GA, with a strong ’90s vibe, made of Jenn Carroll (Vocals), Corey Barhorst (Guitar/BV/ keyboards), Chase Rudeseal (Bass/BV) and Danny Worsley (Drums/BV).
While the first guitar-driven single “Wrong Drive” possesses an unstoppable and blistering adrenaline rush, amidst Punk Rock and Motorhead inspired rock ‘n’ roll, on which standout a distinctive commanding vocal delivery, varying from a vulnerable high-pitched tone to growling yells, the equally energetic “Universal Lies” is instead characterized by soaring liquid keyboards, which give an early 80s Wavey/Post Punk flair.
“Universal Lies” drives a relentless foundation of racing, thumping drums and gritty churning bass lines, fueling grazing and abrasive supercharged riffs along with shivering fluid keyboard beams, to waft with a skyrocketing edgy shimmer over moody vocals, shifting between nervous melancholia, unrestrained rage, and fearful obsession to cope with fear and abandonment.
Measurement‘s self-titled debut album will be released on October 23, 2025.
Keep up with Measurement:
