La Peste are, as they describe themself, a ‘death-reverb, proto-gaze, post-garage’ French duo from Le Mans.
They’re going to release at the start of December a very limited six-track cassette/vinyl debut album titled ‘Ossuaire’ via the excellent Cranes Records.
Channeling their diverse influences from The Birthday Party, Death In June to and unconditional love to Nirvana and Rowland S. Howard, into a well crafted mix of distorted, fuzzy, reverb-y guitars, addictive punchy post-punk bassline and intense sensitive vocals.
‘Fleurs Fanées / Dead Flowers‘ is a shining exemple of that, filled with dramatic intensity and misery, heartfeld passion and sense of vulnerability, fits in well with the current melancholic, hazy autumn days.
