Track Of The Day Kate de Rosset
Kate is an artist and musician who began sharing music in 2014. As a live member of Cemeteries, in her former project Pat Moon, and now as her given name. After releasing her first studio recorded album, “For the Small Bird”, she moved to her hometown in North Carolina and has been creating a studio in her home. It’s become a safe space for her to re-discover what she loves most. The start of a new chapter.
“It Will Burn”, her fifth full-length album, is due on January 9, 2026, via the art collective and audio-visual label, founded by Gloria de Oliviera, La Double Vie.
Featuring vocal harmonies by Kyle J. Reigle of Cemeteries, “In the New” is the third, final single and closing track of the LP, an immersive, soul-stirring song that ponders what a new beginning will be like through a lens of change and letting go.
Hypnotically enveloping, stirringly dreamlike, “In the New” unravels in a boundless sensorial expanse of rarefied melancholy that radiates placidly, punctuated by subtle heartbeat-like rhythms, wrapped in the bittersweet soft veil of warm breezy keyboards, rippled by wistful gleaming key drops and lambent rills of reverb, on which drift gentle, yet deeply heartfelt female vocals, celestial and earthly at the same time, streaked with slight fear and angst, finding solace while awaiting a new beginning.
