WL//WH Track Of The Day: KANN KEIN DEUTSCH “The Kiss of an Angel”

Track Of The Day  KANN KEIN DEUTSCH

Kann Kein Deutsch is the enigmatic Post-punk /Dark Wave project of the Gothic music lover Donnie Asche from Columbus, Ohio, who has started to move his early steps in the current year with a full album and an EP on his belt, inspired by the darkest and romantic shades of  ’80s iconic trailblazers.

The band’s latest new single signs a developed deeper, polished and refined layered sound but at the same time essential and intense without a note out of place, early Modern English, Danse Society, Sad Lovers & Giants come to mind.

A soul-stirring song about an angel who gives a demon hope and then abandons him in hell, “The Kiss of an Angel” arouses tight yet fluid, knocking and thudding rhythmic patterns along bleak humming and meandering basslines, slowly swept by lonesome stirring synth swirls, laced with wistful rolling chimes of piano keys and effect-filled piercing showers of sparkling aching guitar wails, to envelop hopeless, haunted crystalline vocals in a bitter despairing agony.
