The Various Artists “We are one Darkwave Vol. 4” is a compilation album curated by the Mexican independent label We are one Records, where more than 20 underground projects from Mexico and the US, spanning Darkwave, Post Punk, New Wave, Synth Pop, Deathrock, and all around, created a special track for this topic of ‘after the dark days’.
Mexico City-based trio Invierno en Viena deliver glitter Techno-Pop “desde el fin del mundo.”
As the title clearly suggests, “Viviendo en los 80” is a heartfelt tribute to those mythical years reminisced by deadpan female vocals, amidst secret whispers, and startling echoes, wafting on scratchy, bouncy retro bass loops, hypnotic, thumping beats, and swirling layers of nostalgic lush synth chords, to travel over the colorful surreal aesthetic of the 1980s.
