Following last year’s maybe too underestimated debut album “Imperfect Monuments”, the Midwestern US goth act Hypnagogia returns to deliver a gripping blast of eerie and epic Xymox–like synth-driven Darkwave, to stir dangerous dance-inducing, melancholy-laden hypnosis.
“In this dream” wanders in the liminal space between dreams and reality, steered by martial rattling drum beats, menacing buzzing basslines and ethereal, spectral swirling synth melodies, swooshing atop cold, echoing and disconnected vocals, brooding with pain-filled confusion and yearning for a lost love.
