Barcelona denizen David Solazo from Paranormales advised me a while ago, after the demise of his band, about his new project, called Huir, with vocalist and synth player Ana Of The Head, and the already recorded first EP “Triumphal Arch Lovers”, once again under the production prowess of the always in demand Maurizio Baggio (Boy Harsher, The Soft Moon), and here, finally, is the first single, “Vital”, via the new affiliation with the German-based international label Cold Transmission Music.
The Catalan duo debuts with a cold yet melancholy-ridden strain of lush and throbbing dusky Synth-pop with a contemplative sheen, brooding in shades of Darkwave.
Symbolic lyrics embrace the strength to turn away from those who are not good for us.
Breathy yet powerful heartfelt vocals lay angsty atop retro-charged dance-driven punching drum beats, bouncing rumbling basslines, glittering forlorn keys, and haunting echoing guitar flourishes, releasing longing and fear into an intoxicating swirl of bewitching emotions.
HUIR‘s debut EP, “Triumphal Arch Lovers”, is going to be released, in digital & physical format, in early 2024, via Cold Transmission Music in early 2024 following a set of upfront singles & videos.
