“Shrine” is beautifully dark-sounding synth-laden coldwave gem about love, loss, and anger. Immersed in a sombre, and menacing Twin Peaks-esque atmosphere, built by hypnotic repetitive beats, ominous bass line and hazy waves of wistful synth melodies, the intriguingly sensual, whispered and ethereal vocals, weighty with melancholia and longing, encapsulate the profound sense of depression, despair and guilt as a result of a past failed relationship.
Gloomy and emotional, as immersive and bewitching, a precious debut.
