Fresh from a deal with Stockholm based independent label PNKSLM Recordings, Russian/Swedish noisemakers Ghlow has just released their brand new single “Hollow”.
The duo, with a self-released 4-track EP “Crystal Memoriz” at the end of 2017, seem to have refined and toughened up, with the voice more on top, their dark and energetic brand of electropunk, a urgent and poignant mix of caustic razor-edge guitar riffs, gloomy bass, clanging and pounding rhythms, despondent and angry singing and fuzz/up haunting synthesizers.
The hectic, tense, tightly wound “Hollow” uncoils unremitting slapdash drumbeats that rattler and clatter, laying the stark foundation for simmering, dense and grim bass lines consistently rumble underneath sparsely abrasive jittery guitar riffs and alarming hypnotic synth cuts, echoing an uneasy pent-up storm of sorrow engulfed by lost, honed vocals bursting with anger, frustration, and love, pervaded by relentless emotional claustrophobia.
Keep up with GHLOW:
