Track Of The Day FUTURE NOSTALGIA
Following last year’s debut studio album “Imaginary Conversations”, the Norwegian Dream Pop /Shoegaze five piece Future Nostalgia unveils the first single, “Biltur”, from the forthcoming sophomore LP “Mellow.”
The Oslo-based band, made up of Tiril Hognestad (vocals), Erik Lønne (guitars and vocals), Magnus M. Forbord (guitars), Astrid Garmo (bass), and William Larsson (drums and percussion), serves up a heady vertigo of MBV-esque fuzzed-out, wobbly guitar sheets against fragile, ethereal energies, amidst effect-heavy, electric turmoil and wistful introspection.
Indiscernible, vibrant female vocals radiate upwards through a thick swirling fog stirred by shuffling drums and humming bass lines, trudging beneath distorted sludgy waves of churning guitar squalls and insistent rippling anxious glows, into a crisp clearing where gentle, heartfelt longing takes hold before the tumult reverts, and layers of droning frosted glass completely overwhelm the stirring emotions once again.
