From the cold Russia consistently keep on coming intense and urgent dark music, usually made with few resources and totally DIY, most of the time heartfelt, highly intriguing and addictive.
Post-punk/coldwave duo based in Yekaterinburg, called Фирма-однодневка [Firma-odnodnevka], is no exception, after a brilliant debut released just last March, here is a new track.
“Полеты/Flying” is sad song centered on an unhappy and tormented love-go-wrong laced with forlorn melancholy and nostalgic longing, driven by pounding beats with 80’s drum effects and deep pulsating basslines, woven with shimmering layers of guitar distortions and reverberations, emphasised by brooding vocals, depicting an an intense and emotional hazy and hypnotic sense of resignation and desolation, proof of band able to create their intense and emotional own take on modern dark post-punk.
