Based out of Long Beach, California, veteran post-punk / shoegaze 3-piece Echolust, made of Philip Obens, Armond Angeles, and Tony Lee Jackson, after their 2016 brilliant debut album “Veldisa”, are back with the first preview from the forthcoming sophomore full-length “Loomer” due out June 29th.
In “The Last Tide” the dream-pop and synth-pop elements have been left aside, perfectly channeling instead the best bits of post-punk and shoegaze. A propulsive powerful and hypnotic bass lines are chased by tight and pounding drums soon surrounded by a hypnotic and noisey wall of distorted guitars and addictive melodic leads, carving out an intense and poignant soundscape amplified by the emotional vocals declaring all his acceptance and relief about a gone love.
Echolust have never been so powerful, visceral, and pleasantly dangerous, it couldn’t have been any better way to introduce the new album.
Keep up with Echolust :
