Earth Fault is a newcomer Minimal Synth solo project from Orlando, Florida, with a penchant towards the bustling yet obscure DIY analog minimal electronic aesthetic of the early ’80s that collides and somehow merges with strains of Synth Wave, Synth-Pop and even Nu-Italo leanings, as is exemplified, both vocally and instrumentally, by the multifaceted debut single “What’s Left for Us?.”
“Dedicated to artists who work full-time jobs to be able to make their art at night”, the song questions if all the work sacrifice is worth it in the end.
Gut-wrenchingly emotional, full of bitterness, but somehow bittersweet and triumphant, the track unleashes a propulsive ominous chugging retro bassline punctuated by a metronomic thuddy, and dry drum programming set on a jittery flashy backdrop of glowing and glittering multilayered synth orchestrations, swirling atop angry ghostly whispers and passionate, regretful broods shifting into vigorous back-up shouts of elation.
