WL//WH Track Of The Day: DVPLVX “Věza ’87”

Track Of The Day  DVPLVX

“Intense, dramatic, claustrophobic Hi-NRG” is how the Canadian-born, Belgium-based artist Tristan Finck, under his latest moniker DVPLVX, describes the new single, “Věza ’87”.

A vibrant, untamed jolt of dance floor energy that has never been lacking, combined with an infectious and elegant 80s melodic flair, in the industrial-charged opulent synth-pop music by the Antwerp denizen since his early inception as Arsenic Of Jabir some fifteen years ago.

Describing with uncanny, imaginative details, the subliminal space inside the mind that catalogues pain and desire, “Věza ’87” cavorts with smoldering intensity through the frenzied, propulsive groove of a gritty throbbing bass line, punctuated by a pumping four on the floor snare, with blazing retro disco synth hooks and spangly loops, to build a busy neon surreal realm where there is no feeling or fear, surrounding passionate, at times quivering, male vocals with sensations of excitement and mystery.
