Track Of The Day DOOMED ROMANTICS
Doomed Romantics is a Portland, OR-based 18th century death-rock trio, comprised of Lucion Hall, Tyler Mechlem, and Doug Lantz.
Drawing inspiration from Christian Death, Bloody Dead and Sexy, and Pink Turns Blue, the band has just dropped their second single in a row, “Give ’em a Look!”.
More aggressive, straight in-your-face, with a pounding dark rock’n’roll razor-edge, “Give ’em a Look!” is engulfed in sludgy voodoobilly strains with Gun Club and the Cramps at heart.
The track is propelled by tightly urgent pummeling, at times jerky and sharp metallic, percussions along with brooding murky bass throbs, to rock from foreboding ruminative moments to dire seismic bursts of droning cavernous riffs, riven by whimpering, agonized screeches, simultaneously with calm spoken word introspections, revolving to spirited strained screams, to bring forth the vibe of giving people a look, ‘like I got nothing to lose’, despite having never won a fight.
