After last year’s Split EP with Fleuve on Hidden Bay Records, the French home recording duo of Manon & Daniel based in Toulouse returns with a delightfully little spacious and contemplative electro-acoustic instrumental, teetering somewhere between slow-core and post-rock with Bedhead/The New Year suggestions, built on delicate and meandering twinkling guitar embroideries.
“Lilas” designs contemplative sensory soundscapes through a rippling tapestry of introspective delicate guitar strings weaving glistening bittersweet melodies laced with restless obsessions to wax and wane between gentle swaying moods and intense swelling distorted reflections, whilst soft percussions skip, drag, and stumble, encircled by airy sheer refracting reverberations, to penetrate dazed, hopeless emotions with a corroborating surge of harmonious incantation.
