WL//WH Track Of The Day: DISREFLECT “Stumble”

Track Of The Day  DISREFLECT

A German DIY electronic project that began in 2006, initially affiliated with the missing cult US label A Different Drum, Disreflect conveys the nostalgic songwriting imaginations, amidst smooth dreamy intricacies and slight dark chiaroscuro, from the Munich artist Ingo von der Osten, to draw both seductive and evocative, introspective synth-pop soundscapes, infused with deep emotional intensity, punctuated by a minimal synthetic foundation, stripped of any frills, built on understated cold beats and enveloping emotive synth arpeggios, devoid of any rhythmic frenzy, yet at times danceable, to enhance and echo the deepest of human emotions, imbued with indissoluble pensive melancholy and warm intimacy.

Back in 2022, after a long hiatus, with a newfound creative flow, the Bavarian producer seems to retain his streak of three EPs with the latest song, “Stumble”, part of an upcoming 4th effort, about a secret encounter laced with shame and yearning.

Steady hypnotic rhythm pattern woven with murky throbbing bass loops lead whirring ephemeral frequencies and gently swelling synth veils, that glimmer and waver somberly atop soft yet urgent, at times subtly layered, romantic croons, aching in desperate regret and longing.

Disreflect keeps wandering in his heartfelt and sublime confidential take on Electropop, keep a close eye on the full release.
