WL//WH Track Of The Day DETECTS
Mississippi-based band Detects, led by Hattiesburg‘s musician and composer Warren Ard (also part of The Starlight Run and Blue Livingroom), announces the release of the forthcoming sophomore album, “Seconds”, due out on November 17, 2023, with the first teaser “Plans Change, an electrifying slice of the distinctive Detects’ ’80s/’90s rooted sound, hinged on a balance-pitched blend of Post-punk and Shoegaze, equally moody, ethereal, and dark, with glimmers of stirring wistful melodicism.
Reverb-drenched shimmering blankets of trebly guitar waves, chime and soar with solemn wailing high, jerking over driving trotting drum beats along with rumbling punchy basslines, while numb pain-fueled vocals agonize with a weighty heart of longing and melancholia.
Detects‘ upcoming second album, “Seconds”, is scheduled to be released on November 17, 2023, via Way-Off Records.
