WL//WH Track Of The Day DETECTS
Detects, the brainchild of Hattiesburg, Mississippi-based musician and songwriter Warren Ard (also part of The Starlight Run and Blue Livingroom), has dropped the second excerpt from the upcoming third album, “MINUS,” scheduled for August 29th via Way-Off Records.
According to the band, a work turns out noisier than usual, the new single pursues the consolidated clamouring style that knots together sprawling and blistering 90s thick Shoegaze textures and gliding synth-laced Wave/Post-punk moody tones, reconfiguring both in his distinctive way that satisfies the most crossover listeners, crafting loud, gripping and infectiously emotive walls of sound.
The track spills over punchy and urgent drum beats interlocked with grumbling bass lines, fueling ringing, slightly screeching, swarming guitar riffs, juxtaposed with swirling, shuddering synth peaks, building on searing and dazzling, epic progressions with glum, worried vocals fretting underneath, to take an achingly emotional recess, a pace kicking in, propelling toward its cathartic climactic end.
