Crone Call, the mysterious dark Synth-Punk solo act from Portland, Oregon, whose debut Super 8 video clip we featured at the start of the year, unveils the third single “Fire Sea,” to be part of a forthcoming debut album.
Juxtaposing destruction and purification, “Fire Sea” is an uncanny and arcane atmospheric, stripped-down synth-driven exploration into the transformative power of fire, permeated by a slow churning momentum, wrought with nervous tension.
The dark cinematic track drives obsessive, tight and hypnotic drum patterns, woven with a pulsing low-end buzz, to unremittingly stab a scary, distorted witch-like chant echoed by desolate sprawling synth drones, haunting key glows and edgy nagging trills, plunging into the bowels of tortured emotions, switching between bored haughty taunts into scathing anger, weighted with a profound sense of anxiety.
