Hailing, as recently as Larsovitch, from Montpellier, South of France, BUZZKILL is a duo made of Nolwenn and Ronni, who, regardless of a bare bone instrumentation, churn out a rowdy and roiling Coldwave /Post Punk sound, brimming with sheer energy and lyrical intensity, spearheaded by a chilly, visceral vocal delivery.
Following an early EP in 2024, the two-piece heralds the forthcoming debut album, “Wasteland”, due out on January 9th via Marseille‘s independent labels Ganache Records and Cœur Sur Toi Records, with the first excerpt, “Shout”.
The track talks about getting to the point in a relationship when anger sinks in, and you don’t care anymore.
A hypnotic frenzied drive from a menacing scratchy drone of primal gritty low end spasms, penetrated by steady whipping drum patterns, and nervy spiraling synths, jolts, cracks and tightly throbs with cavernous gravity below deep husky and high emotional female vocals, turning to disjointed pain-filled moans, to convey the point in a relationship when anger and carelessness take hold.
