WL//WH Track Of The Day Blushing
Austin, Texas based two husbands and wives band Blushing, made of Christina Carmona (vocals, bass), Michelle Soto (guitar, vocals), Noe Carmona (guitar) and Jake Soto (drums), are slowly approaching their debut album fine tunining their dreampop/shoegaze sound heavily infused with 90’s suggestions, spanning from My Bloody Valentine “Isn’t Anything” period’s guitar tones to Lush-like vocal harmonies.
Exploring the struggle of letting go and moving on, “Dream Merchants”, beyond any clear influences, hits the nail on the head with a heady balance between ecstasy and noise, melodies and dissonance, sweetness and energy, in an unrelentless dyzzing chase amid abrasive feedback-charged droning guitar and ethereal vocals, underpinned by a solid rhythm section. A profoundly immersive and emotionally wrenching, mesmerizing sonic waterfall permeated by buzzing swirls and tumultuous bursts of restrained fuzzy distortions over impalpable dizzy echoes and hums break possibilities of hope, relinquish past sorrows and allow dreams to become reality.
While the band’s uncanny knack for crafting intoxicating and seductive hazy and dreamy pop songs is confirmed once again, grows the curiosity on how their sound will fit and evolve over a whole album, hopefully we won’t have to wait much longer.
