WL//WH Track Of The Day: ANGEL-MAKER “Over Corrector”

Track Of The Day ANGEL -MAKER

Debuted with a promo two years ago, soon followed by a split tape EP with Colorado‘s fuzzy shoegazers Lowfaith, of which I highly recommend a close listen to their brilliant recent 5-tracker “Earth Falls Quiet, Heaven and Hell Sing”, Indianapolis based one-man-band ANGEL-MAKER, with clear leanings to the dark and atmospheric ’80s UK post-punk sound, has announced his first full-length album, titled “A-M 4”, due out on September 10th, CD/Digital, via Barcelona‘s sub-label of Diffuse Reality electronic imprint, Periphylla Records.

The first single “Over Corrector”, taken from the LP, triggers a hypnotic syncopated rhythmic pace accompanied by a sinuous bleak rumbling bassline, intermittently pierced by obsessive twitchy yet dismal stacked guitar slivers, awash by sweeping mournful airy synth imbued with dreamlike melancholy, whilst husky impassioned male vocals sorrowfully yearn in a dreary disconnected reality.

The hopeless lyrics unveil a hazy night of drinking and empty promises ignited by lies, selfishness, and denial.
