Celebrated gothic rock – darkwave visionaries Whispers in the Shadow return with their 12th studio album “RAPTURE” through Icy Cold Records. On June 13 the Austrian act unveiled their brand new opus, which includes 8 brand new songs that are overall like
“a haunting journey through the intertwined forces of religion, love, death, and spiritual reckoning. The album explores the fragile balance between belief and doubt with emotional depth.”
It’s a strong album with many special moments as they wander through the soundscapes of gothic rock music. Essentially, each track has its unique moment within the album, and I don’t just mean the distinctive choruses but also other soundscapes that stand out. Listen to the first single “From The Mouth Of Babes” from the album (released on May 3rd) and let yourself be enchanted by the magic of the moment, a moment that lasts 3:29
On June 6th, “Illusions Of Grandeur” came up with an official video clip to accompany it, another track from the “Rapture” LP that somehow ‘explains’ the things on the album in a slightly different way.
The “Rapture” LP features a variety of similar musical forms, and I must emphasize that the strong, solid sound of the album greatly contributes to a comfortable listening experience. As for the band, with 30 years of experience in the dark forest, they hold a deep understanding of what to embrace and what to avoid. The soundscape is lush and razor-edged, swirling with both heavy and atmospheric guitars, pulsing basslines, and drums that shift from tribalistic to explosive. The wolf pack, led by Ashley Dayour, entered the studio to record an excellent album after a lot of work. It’s important to note that you’ll likely be able to distinguish a few other or various tracks, which is one of the album’s positive aspects. In fact, every track on the album could stand alone as a maxi single.
The new album by the Whispers In The Shadow has arrived in the middle of summer to make it hotter, and certainly more adventurous. You can (that is, certainly) listen to it on repeat with a cold beer, and reminisce or plan your new ‘incidents’.
Here we go, listen to it loud (without headphones, pls)!!!
Keep up with Whispers In The Shadow:
