WL//WH Premiere Vincent Christ
Started to be noticed in the summer of 2022 through the debut album “Truant”, after initial years as a Hip-hop producer, the dynamic London-based musician, singer and composer Vincent Christ has deftly moulded fresh, urgent and nostalgic, 80s-tinged songwriting that blurs elements of moody Post Punk, refined New Wave, vibrant Glam and Indie Rock, pulling, from time to time, diverse but never predictable nuances, with a distinctive melodic sensibility.
WL//WH is pleased to welcome Vincent Christ to the blog with the premiere of the Official Video, shot on location in Czechia by Rocío Escámez, for the new single “Something In My Stride”, taken from the eagerly-awaited forthcoming sophomore album “Follow The Leopard.”
The atmospheric and enveloping sax-dusted “Something In My Stride”, about having a premonition, arouses flickering wistful blankets of glowing reverb-drenched hazy textures alongside lush whimpering saxophone blows, underlined by light skipping beats and sinuously pulsing, resonant bass lines, to cocoon pensive, at times layered, soulful vocals, with a warm emotional breeze of dramatic moods.
A Beautiful Day in Czechia, by Rocío Escámez, sets the picturesque backdrop for Vincent Christ as he intimately performs “Something In My Stride.” Views of the city display fascinating architecture and unique pieces of art and if you look closely, you will notice a colourful stained glass window depicting the pagan god Pan. A cinematic, lights and shadows, stairwell scene with VC, wearing classic black Ray-bans while softly dancing, symbolically syncs with the psychic mystery of the soundtrack.
Keep up with Vincent Christ:
