WL//WH Premiere: VEXAGON Contemplates Beyond the “Human Form” [Cold Transmission Music]

WL//WH Premiere  VEXAGON

WL//WH ushers in 2026 welcoming the Cold Transmission Music label’s new affiliated act Vexagon, the moniker of  Los Angeles-based queer Darkwave artist Briar Moth, for a premiere of the music video for “Human Form”, directed by the longtime creative collaborator Kyle McCoy of Sword Collector, the first single taken from the forthcoming album “I For An I,” scheduled for release in Spring 2026.

Emerging from Augusta, Georgia, Vexagon is the darkwave project of Briar Moth, forged in 2018 and shaped by rupture, reinvention, and over two decades of songwriting experience.

Drawing from a wide spectrum of underground influences, Vexagon distills themes of identity, sexuality, and self-actualization into stark, emotionally precise electronic music. Working with minimal tools and maximal intent, the project has consistently translated limitation into atmosphere and focus.

Vexagon’s catalog has earned sustained international recognition, from multiple Best of Year awards for “Love Is Surrender” to Top 10 album placements, broadcast support from key tastemakers, and notable selections by Ellen Allien, including appearances on Spotify editorial playlists and HÖR Berlin. Relocating to Los Angeles in 2023, Briar completed work on their new album “I For An I”, an existential darkwave statement examining the nature of the self and the impermanence of life.

“Human Form” is about my partner Jae, of Darkness Calling. I was looking at them one day and felt that they must have evolved beyond human form to become the incredible being that they are. Jae inspires me personally, challenges me creatively, and regularly finishes Solitaire games in under a minute. Their encyclopedic recall of nearly every fact they have ever learned is constantly astounding.

Immersive and stirring, the song romantically lights up a liquid sky with wistful, glowing synth melodies, high-pitched twinkles and thin metallic mists over a pulsing stream of heart-racing beats and warmly swaying bass lines, alongside soft, rugged, heartfelt vocals that radiate layers of dreamy contemplation.

The Official Video for “Human Form”, by Kyle McCoy, uses lights and shadows, symbolic outdoor scenes, and time-lapse photography to bring forth the introspection of the soundtrack. A person serenely watches, as if from a higher plane, as a wrapped bouquet of roses floats atop a snow-dusted stream. Birds glide through a grey cloudy sky, flowers and fruit ripen and decay, and a door with a bright light streaming through it slowly closes, showing both the duality and the cyclical nature of life and death.

Vexagon‘s first single, “Human Form,” taken from the forthcoming album “I For An I,” due this Spring, is OUT NOW on Bandcamp and the major streaming platforms.
