WL//WH welcomes the premiere of “Queen City Kills” (QCK) lifted from the anticipated, crowd-funded debut LP “Pixelated Lithiums”, scheduled for release on August 9, 2024, by the “Spooky Intergalactic Indie Surf Rockers” from Dayton, OH, known as Turboslacker.
The band comprises stalwart musicians from the local independent rock scene, each bringing their unique flair to the ensemble, namely Nathan Peters: Vocals/Synth (Captain of Industry), Nate Wainscott: Guitar/Vocals (Repeater and Multimagic), Brian Davis: Bass/Vocals (Passeport and Multimagic), and Gus Stathes: Drums (The Sailing), to deliver an oddball progressive, vaguely psychedelic, genre-defying rock’n’roll sound.
Vibrant and mercurial “Queen City Kills” explores the toxic effects of an urban environment on the human psyche, juxtaposing driving hard-hitting drum beats and churning basslines with slashing, staccato guitar riffs laced with blaring, ringing jagged swelling spirals and both glaring and dim keyboard melodies, to surround breathless brooding atmospheric vocals and an array of back-up supports, with an intense chaotic screaming expulsion of social Darwinian fueled tension.
Turboslacker‘s crowd-funded debut album, “Pixelated Lithiums”, is due out on August 9, 2024, celebrated with a special release show during the Best Dead City Music Festival at Brightside Music & Event Venue in Dayton, Ohio, on August 9th, 2024.Keep up with Turboslacker:
