WL//WH Premiere STRANGE FUTURES
Strange Futures, the Bristol, UK-based SynthPunk-tinged Darkwave outfit of Alastair Power and Alice Sheridan, returns to WL//WH with a Premiere of the DIY Official Video for “Bad Theories”, the first single taken from a forthcoming EP due in the Summer of 2025.
The track deals with the awkward and sometimes frustrating feeling you get when a person you don’t know starts a conversation with you and there is absolutely no connection.
Moody and dramatic, “Bad Theories” unleashes the unyielding stark vigor of hypnotic slashing beats cut through by ominous rumbling bass lines that judder under a swirling constellation of dim, misty and mysterious synth melodies while powerful female vocals, release high desperate cries, then break into an aggressive rant, before a transformative interlude shifts mood and temperature with an intoxicating sensation.
The DIY Official Video shows Strange Futures performing “Bad Theories” with intense energy under a split screen of red and white dimensions while a messy backstory syncs seamlessly with the lyrics. The symbolic clip begins and ends with a beautiful red rose, but don’t be fooled by the romantic gesture because soon after you will see Alice and Alastair embarrassingly holding the floral bouquet with sticky syrup dripping down their faces.
Strange Futures‘ new single, “Bad Theories”, first forestaste from a forthcoming EP scheduled for release this Summer 2025, is out now on all the major sharing platforms.
