WL//WH Premiere Palm Ghosts

WL//WH is pleased to welcome Palm Ghosts back to the blog for a Premiere of the Official Video by Benjamin Douglas for “Another Blind Machine,” the first single from the forthcoming EP “Escape” and the first in a series of songs that will culminate at an end of 2024 in the 2o-track double album called “Facades”, mixing genres and moods like no other release in Palm Ghost’s large catalogue. The kaleidoscopic songs will explore topics like religion, cults, love, loss and survival in the modern age.
The Nashville, Tennessee-based eclectic Alternative Indie Rockers led by Joseph Lekkas (Lead Vocals, Bass), along with Benjamin Douglas (Guitar, Vocals), and Walt Epting (Drums, Percussion) will also partner with Sweet Cheetah Publicity along the year to put out four cover tracks, raising money for selected charities.

Enveloped in an equally uplifting and chaotic, surreal psychedelic haze, “Another Blind Machine” stirs an icy bright broken down carousel melody to spin in warped piercing chimes amid disruptive arrhythmic, stumbling drum beats, layers of obsessive ringing guitars, sinuously thick humming basslines and vibrant stacks of emotive piano keys, to surround aching yet dreamy vocals, with the will to break free from the disorienting murk of push and pull constraints.
Modern dystopic visions by Benjamin Douglas shuffle symbolic black-and-white imagery with kaleidoscopic reflections and prismatic computer-generated interpretations to sync with the momentum of the soundtrack. A strategic editing of anxiety-inducing clips, cartoon-drawn manipulations, and shapeshifting facial expressions distort feelings of fear and desire using a constant influx of subliminal suggestions.
