WL//WH Premiere MISSVNARIES ov CHARITY
Copenhagen-based 3-piece deadly suppliers of “sleazy Post Punk with Funk and No-Wave elements thrown in for good measure”, made of ex-members from cult underground Danish acts of the 2010s Öresund dark scene, such as Melting Walkmen, Moth, Chainsaw Eaters and Kold Front, among others, are going to drop a limited edition Double Cassette release via Utåt Neråt, a new sublabel of Gothenburg‘s Inåt Bakåt Records, available since May 2nd.
The first tape is a re-issue, with an updated artwork, of the band’s long sold-out 2022 debut “HVMANITY AS A HOLE,” originally on Detriti Records; the second one, “PETROLEVM JELLY,” consists instead of 6 older/new songs, especially re-recorded, remixed and remastered for the occasion.

WL//WH is pleased to premiere the DIY Official Video for “Abject Permanence”, the sixth and final track from the “Petrolevm Jelly” side.
Lyric-wise, it’s about a person who feels disillusioned because people seem to keep getting lost in a hazy self-comfort rather than fueling their fire of shared creativity.
Shredding and grinding down remnants of Punk, No-Wave, Disco and Funk, “Abject Permanence” triggers an impulsive, jittery rush of sharp-edged, jagged and vitriolic riffs, ceaselessly fueled by a vibrant percussive underpinning of meandering, rubbery bass grooves, crunchy cowbell knocks and steady, urgent drums, to hopelessly resonate atop matter-of-fact, friendly spoken words, soaring into sad, agitated cries of bitter disenchantment.
The visuals for “Abject Permanence” layer microscopic cell clips with mirror image amalgamations of Missvnaries ov Charity to sync seamlessly with the high energy introspection of the soundtrack. Quick-moving hand-drawn imagery, the use of negative light perception, and some of the split identity reflections evoke a sense of life and death duality, bringing to mind the battle within us all between feral and spiritual consciousness.
