Take a step back from your emotions. Putting them down on paper. Exuding its darkness. “L’Ombre De Toi Même” was conceived as a travelogue, a journey into the darkness Lord Jalapeños has crossed. Already signed to labels such as Science Culte and Diffuse Reality, this time the producer offers twelve fragments of his soul on Ethos Records, accompanied by three remixes by Lostsoundbytes, Boris Barksdale and Lemon Schaden.

This opus sounds like the soundtrack to a trashy thriller, where the emptiness is crushing, the outbursts threatening, and the cries of instinct chilling. Where ambient meets metal, where meaninglessness meets punk rage, it’s crunchy, suffocating, deep black bass superimposed on distorted, imploring synths. Sleep paralysis encoded in electronic poetry.

WL//WH welcomes the return of Rennes, France Electronic producer Eendracht, under his Lemon Schaden alias, for a premiere of his intricate immersive remix of Lord Jalapeños‘ “Corroded”, taken from the upcoming LJ 12-track digital album “L’Ombre De Toi Même”, due out on March 16, 2025 via Ethos Records.

Less cold, edgy and uncanny than the original, Lemon Schaden deploys a restrained yet not less viscerally intense, gripping rework of Lord Jalapeños‘ distinctive clattering and high-strung dark specimen of Industrial-strewn Techno and Electro sonics.

The track drives a scattered and crackling floor of heavily stomping drum kicks alongside shivering, tinny hi-hats and crispy claps, to echo and reverberate through a sultry primal climate where a sizzling array of airy swirls, subtly chimey blip tones, ominous grumbling low-end drones, muted blows, desolate spectral motifs, and sweeping whirring frequencies, hang out rather than zip around, to coalesce into a sneakily calm yet alert symmetric head space, that ignites and sways, near the end, into the likewise disturbing and shrieking aura of the original.

Lord Jalapeños‘ incoming 12-track digital album (plus three remixes by Lostsoundbytes, Boris Barksdale and Lemon Schaden), “L’Ombre De Toi Même”, will be released on March 16, 2023, via Ethos Records.
