WL//WH Premiere: LADY MARU feat. Ambra C. Michelangeli “Unforeseen Plans” [SOIL Records]

WL//WH Premiere  LADY MARU feat. Ambra C. Michelangeli

WL//WH is very pleased to premiere the mesmeric industrial techno track “Unforeseen Plans” by Italian DJ/producer Lady Maru, featuring the violinist Ambra C. Michelangeli, taken from the upcoming Various/Artists “Tears for Fears Vol. 3” [SOTA042], a 22-track Christmas-time compilation, with a mix of E.B.M, Electro and Industrial music, on Ltd. Double Cassette Edition in butterfly case & Digital, available from December 25, 2020, via Spanish label SOIL Records.

Hailing from Rome, Italy, Lady Maru started producing music in 1994 with an electric guitar, some toy percussions and a Tascam 4-track recorder, becoming increasingly active as a noise guitarist and Casio player for post-punk and no wave bands from the Capital.

Her career as a DJ sprang in 2003 at Metaverso, a small Roman “cult “club, and at various underground raves and parties trying to combine 2 main influences: post-punk and techno, actually playing and producing an electronic sound mostly based on acid techno with industrial and EBM leanings.

Lady Maru freshly created her own label for acid tunes, called Acid Boiler Coalition and works musically for other artistic projects as well, such as dance, theatre, performances, bands…

Dangerous vigorous, ritualistic rhythms repetitively pound ominous drums, interspersed by crunchy kicks, swept by treacherous, droning low ends, needled in high-frequency dread, to build slow swirling and looming expansions arousing restrained, turbulent violin flurries that ripple around overwhelmed, detached female vocals, both alluring and menacing, in an obsessive release of anxiety and fear.

Modern dystopic elements ebb and flow with emotional inconsistency through an anxiety-fueled stream of consciousness regarding the repetitious nature of time.

Various/Artists “Tears for Fears Vol. 3” [SOTA042], a22-track Christmas-time compilation, is slated to be released, on Ltd. Double Cassette Edition in butterfly case & Digital, from December 25, 2020, via SOIL Records Bandcamp.
