Today, August 24, marks the release of the new album “Aural Cinematics I – Ossified Radiance” by Incissors, published by Razorbleed Productions. This album follows the Incissors’ masterful experimental sacrifice of “The Wordless God” LP, released two years earlier. Both works emerge from the relentless creativity of Vincent Andelmoth, an artist who is unwavering in expressing his unique vision as his music is often impressive and precise in its intentions, designed to overwhelm the listener.

So, “iNsCissorS” [Cinematic Ambient from Athens/GR], and I can add it is all esoteric, ambient…dark ambient, and ritual music all the way with a good dose of sparkling darkness (sometimes) and blinding honesty in all that is presented through this very special album, a hidden world comes to the fore, a musical experience of very specific and high aesthetic quality, and with great sound quality…in all the suffering of the human species and the human unconscious.

Here the music does not shout but instead whispers in a powerful way. There is no deep darkness here; rather, there is a deeper penetration that reaches from the inside out, touching both the mundane and the otherworldly. The intriguing soundscapes unfold stories that exist all around us. This is not a “scary” album; it is deep and adventurous, with tracks that only conclude when the events they portray come to a natural end. Yes, there are times when it is an impressive album, similar to the previous one, featuring well-targeted orchestrations and musical elements and presences (i.e. hear the voice of Evaggelia Danili).

I already know that this album involved a lot of processing during its creation, but it’s not just done that way for the sake of it. Instead, the processing is both musical and artistic. There are some excellent hidden “gems” in this album. When you listen closely, you can tell that every element serves the music itself rather than catering to industrial trends.

Sonically, the album unfolds a vast and complex dark ambient spectrum. The compositions seamlessly traverse heavy ritualism and experimental soundscapes born from mangled, decayed analog tapes, contrastingly balanced by moments of nostalgic ambient stasis. Interwoven throughout this dense atmosphere are clinically hollowed and deliriously institutional vocal lamentations that hint at a profound psychological rupture. Central to the album’s sonic output is an extensive, avant-garde sound design process used to materialize the key elements of the concept, systematically sculpting a landscape of structural collapse right before everything dissolves into final, bone-white silence.

Now, I need to tell you that the entire “Aural Cinematics I – Ossified Radiance” LP will serve as part of the official auditory companion to Matt Lombard’s upcoming art exhibition (24-30.08.2026) in Rethymno, Crete, under the banner of the Rethymno Rocks Festival #6. If you are in Crete these days (residing or on holiday), this is a very good occasion to entertain yourself in this amazing effort by the guys down there.
