Whilst preparing to launch its fourth season, Letherique‘s Bella Ursa Recordings interstellar odyssey takes us back into the infinite intricacies of the Aranea Nebula. Once again, the French label welcomes aboard the mothership new like-minded explorers from uncharted territories, trying together to unearth hidden paths through the ethereal darkness, rooted in the timeless traditions of EBM and Wave music.
Weaving a sonic tapestry that spans close to 90 minutes on Bella Ursa‘s distinctive beloved analog cassette tape, “Nebula Aranea #3” carries the listener on a journey into the unwavering cosmic fervor that has been driving the Strasbourg-based imprint for the past 3 years, featuring 16 tracks by DuR ChaToNm, C.Ysme & Alexandra, 7V SWORD OF TRUTH, Nuire, Leonard Lampion, The Marquis, Xarah Dion, Sylu, Hørd, Infesta, Letherique, Stalker Ego, Andréa 25000, Human Figures AKA Daniel Holtz, SARSA², Pattrn and Cellarkalt.
WL//WH is pleased to premiere the 8th track, “Spiders”, by the Bordeaux-based, French videographer, singer, sound designer, musician, and Avant!Records affiliated, Sebastien Carl AKA Hørd, imaginative purveyor, since 2014, of a dark, cosmic and cinematic multifaceted electronic sound, equally driving and reflective, spanning between Synthwave, Darkwave, Techno, Ambient and EBM.
The reverb-laden, both spaced-out and claustrophobic, as well as epic and dramatic, slow-burner ambiance, “Spiders”, slowly unfolds through a dreamily sparkling and pulsing glacial aura of fluttering and hissing synth dazzles along with ceremonial kicks and muffled stomping percussions, increasingly weighed down with a heavy influx of encroaching and buzzing basslines, whilst sinister swirling glittering atmospherics, and oppressive echoing distortion, infiltrated by vibrant yet melancholic meandering twinkly melodies, form a soaring and swelling murky doom-laden headspace, cast in slight slivers of emerging hope.
