WL//WH Premiere: HERR WADE churns out a heartfelt pop Christmas of Peace, Love and Gingerbreads in “Kongress der Pfefferkuchenleute”

WL//WH Premiere HERR WADE

Norwegian-German pop crafters Jørn O. Åleskjær (The Loch Ness Mouse and Monobird, Swart Vredag) and Sebastian Voss (The Fisherman and his Soul, Nah…, Lancaster), worldwide known as Herr Wade, deliver their normal yearly X-Mas tune, titled “Kongress der Pfefferkuchenleute”.

The song imagines a playful UN-style assembly of gingerbread and other seasonally spiced delegates from around the world, from Bonhomme d’Épices to Piparkoogimees, Julebrødmand, Piernikowy Ludzik, Uomo di pan di zenzero, Stutenkerl and the Gingerbreadman soldier, who in unison pass a simple but powerful resolution:

“Love and peace — not just for today.”

A warm, witty, gently melancholic indie-pop Christmas tune in true Herr Wade fashion, ushered by nimble, steady drums and sonorous, rubbery bass pulses, that swing along heavenly jangly guitar melodies and magical chimes, creating a cocooned sparkling backdrop for hopeful, nostalgic male vocals, rejoicing over a sweet anti-war resolution.

Herr Wade drops a fun holiday companion video for their seasonal single, “Kongress der Pfefferkuchenleute”, that shuffles heartwarming candid still shots of the band alongside the album art and decorated gingerbread men, syncing seamlessly with the sentiments of the soundtrack.

Herr Wade’s X-Mas single, “Kongress der Pfefferkuchenleute”, is out today via Bureau Platiruma and on the major streaming platforms.
