Born in 2015 from the encounter of kindred spirits Bryan Quinn and Renaud Chauré united by their strong passion for guitar pedals and New Wave bands, Paris-based band Healess slowly took shape with the arrival of bassist Hillevi Robertsson and drummer Arthur Chen (drums) and an attention-grabbing DIY demo, “Heal’s Beals”, in 2018.
The Breton/American/Swedish/Belgian 4-piece is now finally ready to deliver their abundant eponymous debut 8-track EP via French independent label Hidden Bay Records, rife with a fresh and refined shoegaze-infused noise-pop.
WL//WH is pleased to premiere the band’s second teaser “Jaguarundi“, an intoxicating concoction of Neu-esque perpetual-motion grooves, lush, brain-swirling and sparkling psychedelic-tinged guitar work and MBV-like dazed vocal ethereality,
“Jaguarundi” makes its mesmeric and striking way through urgent motorik rhythms, swelling, droning bass oscillations, and wistful, airy layered vocals, awashed by angsty, cresting spirals of blaring and ringing guitar strains, blistering and sizzling with a feverish obsessive embracing vibrancy, to sway in a giddy whirlwind of bittersweet sun-dazzled nostalgia suffused with lysergic escapism.
Healees‘ debut 8-track Self-Titled EP is slated for release, on Cassette and Digital, on June 17th, 2022, through Hidden Bay Records.
