WL//WH Premiere DRAMAMINE
WL//WH welcomes Dramamine, the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania based project of Pete Pomilio, with his heady atmospheric blend of Shoegaze and Dreampop, beautifully epitomized by the visuals for “Echoes of Time”, the first single from the forthcoming EP “Fallen”.
The song explores the passage of time and the memories that resonate in our minds throughout life causing cool, fragile echoing distorted mists to shiver over warm dazzling, boundless deeps, stippled by slow stumbling drum beats and a distant ground of bass pulses, to embrace dreamy anxious vocals, falling and radiating through “Echoes of Time.”
The beautiful cinematic clip by Calypso Productions softly fades in and out like a daydream or a distant memory, layering translucent childhood visions with present-day contemplations to sync with the immersivness of the soundtrack. Majestic ethereal flows blend colorful neon plumes with endless summer fields, winding roads and a foggy, distant island to symbolically lead the viewer out of the darkening shadows into a transformative seaside sunset.
The single’s flip side, “Blood in the Water”, included in last July’s “Distortion Therapy” split EP with Nostalgiaisfun and Always Other, rather than ethereal and comforting, is about an unescapable fall instigated by the hate of another delivered through desperate vocals that are covered by pain-fueled piercing and droning guitar strings.
Keep up with Dramamine:
